Battleship Bismarck 3D Graphics

In this section you can see some samples of my work on 3D model of battleship Bismarck.

In spite of a lot of time devoted to thorough research and modeling, the project still needs some work to be 100 per cent complete. While most elements are fully detailed, there are some minor areas that would use more detailing or modifications. Sometimes one may think that work on such a complex 3d model is truly never-ending! Nevertheless, the 3D graphics shown here shown here were given every effort to resemble the Bismarck before and during operation “Rheinübung” as good as possible.

Appearance of the battleship as during the Battle of Denmark Strait, 24 May 1941. Note the presence of the Baltic stripe camouflage on the hull, which is still showing in spite of the crew's attempts to overpaint it.

Note that turret „Anton” has no rangefinder at its back. It has been removed shortly after Bismarck was commissioned since it had proved to be useless due to ocean spray even when sailing at moderate speed. Light anti-aircraft positions can be seen in bottom right corner: 2 cm single mount and 3,7 cm twin mount.

There's a 7 m rangefinder cuppola on top of it with a FuMO 23 radar antenna fixed to its front.
